How it works
From your postcode to a calendar you'll actually use
GrowCal turns where you live and what you grow into dated reminders in the calendar app you already check.
STEP 1
Tell us where you grow
Enter your suburb, city or 4-digit postcode. Search covers Australian localities nationwide, and where several suburbs share a postcode you choose the right one.
STEP 2
We match you to a regional growing profile
Your locality resolves to one curated Australian regional growing profile — for example Sydney Coastal, Melbourne & Port Phillip or Perth & Swan Coastal Plain. The profile, not a broad climate label, is what drives your calendar.
STEP 3
Choose the plants you actually grow
Filter by vegetables, herbs, fruit and berries, or fruit trees and citrus, then tick or untick individual plants. Nothing is generated for plants you don't grow.
STEP 4
Generate and download your 12-month calendar
GrowCal builds reminders for sowing, planting out, feeding, pruning, pest checks and harvest windows where data exists, then hands you a standard .ics calendar file.
Works with the calendar you already use
Your calendar downloads as an .ics file — the standard calendar format supported by Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook. Open or import the file and the reminders appear as all-day events across the next 12 months.
This is a one-time download and import, not a live subscription feed. If you change your plant selection or move house, generate a fresh calendar and import it again.
What sits behind the dates
Broad climate labels such as “warm temperate” or “subtropical” are there to help you recognise your conditions. They are explanatory only — the curated regional profile is what generates your dates.
Plant schedules are a preview dataset still being validated. You can read exactly how everything is built on the data & methodology page.
