Privacy policy
Last updated 2 September 2026. Written for how GrowCal works today.
Who we are
GrowCal Australia is operated by Tilbury Trading. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to GrowCal.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@growcal.com.au.
We aim to handle personal information responsibly and, where applicable, in accordance with Australian privacy law.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the GrowCal website, our free planting calendar tool and GrowCal Plus subscription features. It describes how we handle personal information when you use the service, create an account, subscribe or contact us.
We may update this policy as providers or features change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
Information we may collect
Account information. If you create a GrowCal account or sign in, we collect your email address and authentication identifiers provided by our authentication service. This lets us link your garden, calendar preferences and subscription status to your account.
Garden and calendar information. To provide planting calendars and reminders we collect your selected location (postcode or suburb), the plants or lawn type you choose, planting dates, actions you record and any calendar or reminder preferences you set.
Subscription and billing information. We use Stripe to process GrowCal Plus subscriptions. Stripe collects the payment details needed to complete a transaction. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Support communications. If you email us or send feedback, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as your suburb, postcode or planting question.
Technical and usage information. Our hosting, analytics and security providers may receive information such as your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, pages visited, actions taken and the time of your visit.
Location and weather information
You do not need to enter a precise street address to use GrowCal. We use the postcode, suburb or location you select to generate planting calendars and, for GrowCal Plus, to provide weather-related context.
Weather data is sourced from Visual Crossing. We send only the coarse location coordinates needed to fetch a forecast; Visual Crossing does not receive your name, email or street address.
How we use information
To operate the website, generate your planting calendar and deliver GrowCal Plus features such as saved gardens, live calendar feeds and weather context.
To process and manage subscriptions, and to keep Free and Plus access separate.
To respond to your enquiries, corrections and suggestions.
To maintain security, troubleshoot problems and improve the service.
Service providers
We use third-party providers to operate the service. These currently include Supabase for account authentication and application data processing, Stripe for payment processing, Google Analytics 4 (Google) for website analytics, Visual Crossing for weather data, and hosting and delivery providers.
These providers may process or store technical and service data on our behalf, and some may store it outside Australia.
We do not sell personal information.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use GrowCal. Google may collect device and browser information, the pages and actions you interact with, your approximate location, and cookie or online identifiers. We also use our own first-party product analytics to measure service usage and performance.
We do not use Google Analytics to personalise or target advertising.
Marketing and communications
GrowCal does not currently operate a newsletter or send marketing emails. We may send transactional or service emails, such as account confirmation, sign-in links, subscription receipts, calendar reminders and responses to your support requests.
If we introduce marketing communications in future, they would be handled separately with appropriate consent, sender identification and an unsubscribe option.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as we reasonably need it to operate the service, support your account and subscription, or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No website or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Cookies and similar technologies
GrowCal uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication and session management when you sign in, and for analytics. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect signed-in features.
Access, correction, deletion and complaints
To ask what personal information we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern, email hello@growcal.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to applicable law and our operational requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our providers, features or practices change. This version was last updated on 2 September 2026.
